my favourite wedding venues in Staffordshire
Planning your wedding? Stressed about finding a venue? Relax—I’ve got you. After spending over two decades performing close-up magic at weddings, I’ve seen my fair share of venues. Some are good, some… not so much. But there are a few that stand out from the crowd, and I’m here to spill the tea (or Champagne?).
Here are my top five wedding venues in Staffordshire, guaranteed to impress your guests (and give me the perfect backdrop for my mind-blowing magic).
Sandon Hall – Staffordshire
Ah, Sandon Hall, where it all began. This stunning venue holds a special place in my heart—it was the very first wedding venue I performed at way back in 1998. Yes, 1998. When boy bands ruled the charts, and mobile phones were the size of bricks.
With its abundance of rooms, Sandon Hall is perfect for my unique Close-Up Corner. From grand drawing rooms to cosy, intimate spaces, I can set up shop and leave your guests utterly baffled. Bonus points for being Staffordshire-based, which means I can get there quicker than you can say, “Abracadabra” (not that I ever say that).
Alrewas Hayes – The Ever-Evolving Venue
If Alrewas Hayes were a person, it’d be that friend who’s always upgrading their wardrobe—constantly levelling up and looking better every time you see them. This hugely popular venue has kept improving its facilities over the years, and their latest upgrade? A gorgeous garden awning!
Now, this may not sound like a big deal, but if you’ve had a British wedding, you already know the struggle. Rain. Sun. Rain. Repeat. This awning protects your guests and my performing area from whatever the good ol’ British weather decides to throw at us. Rain or shine, the magic is still on.
Coton Farm, Lichfield – The Lucky Charm
If weddings had ‘lucky venues’, Coton Farm would be mine. Some of my best-ever performances have happened here, so when I see ‘Coton Farm’ on my gig list, I know it’s going to be a showstopper.
The beautiful outdoor area is a massive win, giving me the perfect setting to entertain your guests with some jaw-dropping illusions. Also, the vibe here just oozes charm and fun—a winning combo for any celebration. Superstitions aren’t for everyone but at Coton Farm? I say don’t mess with a winning streak.
Dunwood Hall – A Hidden Gem
Discovering Dunwood Hall was like finding a £20 note in an old coat pocket—an unexpected but very welcome surprise. This venue isn’t hosting weddings every other weekend, so you get that boutique, exclusive vibe.
The gardens here? Chef’s kiss. They’re the definition of romance and the perfect spot for me to perform during those glorious lazy summer evenings. Whether it’s mingling with guests during the cocktail hour or keeping everyone entertained after dinner, Dunwood Hall provides the dreamiest backdrop.
Mill Barns – Modern Magic
Mill Barns has already claimed its place in my personal magician history books, as it’s where I first debuted my Close-Up Corner. This might sound a little dramatic, but hey, milestones matter.
The outdoor decking area is a standout feature. It’s where I can do what I do best—blow your guests’ minds while they sip on bubbly and enjoy the sunshine. And I have to give a shoutout to the staff, who are some of the friendliest and most professional I’ve worked with. Seriously, they’re the kind of people who make sure everything (and everyone) runs like clockwork. Visit Mill Barns site.
